Dear SBBC Members,

I am glad to know that the Sweden Bangladesh Business Council (SBBC) is going to publish its Summer Newsletter. The SBBC Newsletters published on different occasions have been good sources of information on business developments in Sweden and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has emerged as a promising market for foreign investments and business. However, the Covid-19 pandemic is putting the world to an uncertainty as all the nations are facing the consequences caused by this unwanted situation. At this dire time, we gratefully note that some Swedish business giants have come forward to setting precedence in advancing responsible business norms by continuing their product orders from Bangladesh. This certainly sets example to be followed by others. At the same time, we are happy to inform you that despite all the difficulties due to the pandemic, the government of Bangladesh is putting its best possible efforts to ensure the best business environment for the foreign investments. We are happy to mention that The Economist, a globally acclaimed magazine for economic and political analyses, has placed Bangladesh on the ninth position in terms of different indicators of financial strength among 66 emerging markets in peril over the coronavirus crisis. We hope to see more Swedish investment in Bangladesh to reap benefits from the business friendly environment it offers.

SBBC informs us the business developments of Bangladesh through its links. The important role played by SBBC to the business networking between Bangladesh and Sweden is, hence, thankfully appreciated.
