The digital meeting was arranged by the Bangladeshi Embassy in Stockholm on behalf of the
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
The purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the varied and generous benefits that Bangladesh offers businessmen and investors – these were also the target group for the seminar. Bangladesh offers the most liberal and sound business and investment regime in South Asia, allowing 100% foreign equity with unlimited exit policies. Almost all sectors are open to foreign investment without any quantitative restrictions. See BEPZA’s power point presentation enclosed.
The event was moderated by Morshedur Rahman Talukder, First Secretary, Bangladesh Embassy, Stockholm. The meeting opened with welcome speeches from the ambassadors in Stockholm and Dhaka. The main part of the seminar was then held by various representatives from BIDA, including the Authority for Economic Zones in Bangladesh (BEZA), followed by a panel discussion where, among others, the President of SBBC, Ms. Nathalie Tranefeldt, gave a speech. Other participants in the panel were BEZA, Business Sweden, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bangladesh. After a question-and-answer session, the seminar ended with a speech of thanks given by Parveen Akhter, Executive Member for Marketing and Communication, BIDA.
